ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan’s security is at risk as the CCTV cameras installed at different locations are out of order since many months.
Security sources said that CCTV cameras installed at four different locations in the apex court are out of order, while the one installed in the parking area, the most sensitive point of the building, is also not working – risking unfortunate incidents.
Senior Police Official Ahmed Iqbal said that a total of 61 cameras are installed at the apex court, adding that some three to four are out of order. He stated that it doesn’t make any difference in overall security of the building.
It is vital to mention that the apex court is managing some sensitive cases and the recent attack on lawyers in Quetta poses serious threats to the judiciary and any security lapse can lead to any untoward incident.
