KARACHI: Former Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Dr Asim Hussain could not produce before an Accountability Court (AC) due to his illness so the court adjourned the hearing till November 12.
According to details, the court conducted the hearing of corruption reference – worth Rs 462 billion – on Saturday filed against Hussain. During the course of the proceeding, the jail authorities informed the court that Hussain has not been feeling well and is under treatment therefore, he could not produce before the court.
On this, the court adjourned the hearing of the reference till November 12. Hussain’s medical reports have been submitted to the court – in which the 11-membered medical board advised the former minister to conduct hydrotherapy.
As per the medical reports, there is a gap in Hussain’s backbone due to which he is under severe pain and his movement has become difficult. “The doctors have also advised him to reduce the weight and use wheel chair,” the report added and maintained that physiotherapy is also conducted to reduce the pain in backbone.
